Benefits of enhancing fuel oil (light, medium, and heavy heating oil) with the organic PETROMIX® additive
- Low base dosage: 1 liter of Petromix® per 20,000 liters of fuel oil.
- Easy dosing: for proper mixing, Petromix® should be poured into the tank through the filling connection or ventilation opening before filling the tank. Mixing occurs automatically during tank filling.
- Water neutralization: water permanently present in oil (0.1 - 0.4%) is broken down into very small particles, which improves atomization and eliminates flame instability / flame rollback. Note: with large amounts of water already separated from the oil (e.g., installation leakage), Petromix® acts as a demulsifier.
- Dispersion and sludge removal: Petromix® prevents the clumping (agglomeration) of organic solid particles (asphaltenes) present in the oil. Existing sludge is broken into micro-particles, each bonded with a strongly polarized chemical bond that protects it from further agglomeration, restoring sludge to a liquid state. Asphaltenes also tend to combine with sulfur, vanadium, and sodium. Petromix® prevents this process.
- Better oil oxygenation: the smaller the asphaltenes, the better they absorb oxygen from fragmented water particles. As a result, the oil is protected against bacterial growth. The result of asphaltene fragmentation and oil oxygenation is more complete combustion (= less soot).
- Cleaner installation: thanks to Petromix® (cleaning and dispersing effect = better combustion), the tank, filters, nozzles, and injectors remain cleaner, while less sludge and soot remain in the combustion chamber, ducts, and chimney (= powder-like soot that can be removed from the furnace with ease).
- Stable oil viscosity: dispersing sludge and suspended solids stabilizes oil viscosity. Due to lower internal tension of the fuel oil, pumping improves and flow through pipelines increases.
- Protection against corrosion and sulfur action: Petromix® coats all surfaces with a durable protective layer. As a result, it significantly prevents acid corrosion and corrosion caused by salt water, and also prevents clogging of filters and copper pipes. Petromix® protects against corrosion without reducing boiler performance.
- Extended filter and nozzle life: Petromix® reduces filter clogging to an absolute minimum, and significantly extends nozzle service life.
- Lower oil consumption: oil consumption can be reduced by up to 3% (light oil) and up to 5% (heavy oil).
- Lower heavy oil preheating temperature: due to its viscosity-stabilizing action, heavy oil preheating temperature can be reduced by approx. 5-10%. Boiler settings should be adjusted to the actual viscosity of the burned oil.
- Lower oxygen demand for combustion: due to oxygenation of dispersed solid particles in the oil (mainly in contaminated oils), excess oxygen for combustion above the "lambda 1" factor should be reduced to keep CO at zero. An excess oxygen value of 1.2 - 1.5% can be achieved without difficulty. This leads to lower NOX levels, less flue gas (= lower emission fees), and lower flue gas and chimney temperatures. As a result of the cleaning effect of Petromix® and reduced oxygen demand for combustion, efficiency gains of 2 to 5% can be achieved.
- Lower smoke density: the amount of smoke spots (SSN), measured by photocell on the Bacharach scale, can be reduced by at least 2 points. A reduction of 1 point can be easily achieved provided the air/fuel ratio is correctly set.
- Shorter combustion chamber purge time: Petromix® reduces purge time by approx. 50%.
- Different dosages depending on installation contamination level: -below 8% asphaltenes and not more than 0.20% water = 1 liter of Petromix® per 20,000 liters of oil
-8%-10% asphaltenes and 0.3% water (or less) = 1 liter of Petromix® per 16,000 liters of oil
-10%-12% asphaltenes and 0.3% water (or less) = 1 liter of Petromix® per 14,000 liters of oil
-above 14% asphaltenes and more than 0.5% water = 1 liter of Petromix® per 10,000 liters of oil
Petromix® complies with REACH Regulation No. 1907/2006/EC
